Job Summary
The Area Sales Manager for an eCommerce company is
responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market presence within an
assigned geographical region. This role involves managing sales strategies,
establishing relationships with key business partners, analyzing regional
market trends, and leading a team to meet and exceed revenue targets. The ideal
candidate is results-driven, knowledgeable about eCommerce sales channels, and
has strong experience in territory management and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Account Management:
- Build and nurture
relationships with key customers, distributors, and business partners to
increase market penetration.
- Actively manage key
accounts within the area, understanding their needs and delivering
tailored solutions to increase sales.
- Negotiate terms,
agreements, and contracts with new and existing partners.
- Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and
manage a high-performing sales team within the assigned area.
- Provide clear sales
targets and performance expectations to team members and conduct regular
performance reviews.
- Motivate and coach the
team to achieve individual and team sales goals, fostering a competitive
yet supportive environment.
- Market Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct market research
to understand customer preferences, trends, and competitor activities
within the region.
- Monitor and analyze
sales data, regional KPIs, and other metrics to assess performance and
develop improvement strategies.
- Prepare and present
weekly/monthly sales reports, insights, and forecasts to the Regional
Sales Director.
- Customer Experience &
Retention:
- Implement customer
satisfaction initiatives to ensure an exceptional eCommerce experience.
- Develop and maintain
strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and
referrals.
- Address and resolve any
escalated customer concerns to enhance customer loyalty and retention.
- Collaboration & Cross-Functional
Coordination:
- Work closely with the
marketing, logistics, and operations teams to support promotional
activities and ensure product availability.
- Collaborate with other
regional sales managers to share insights, strategies, and best practices.
- Participate in industry
events, trade shows, and conferences to promote the brand and expand the
professional network.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in
Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years
