Senior Citizens Living Care Home Group is looking for Resident Experience Specialist for their facility at Trivandrum, Kerala location.

 

Job location: Trivandrum, Kerala

 

Salary: 16k-18kpm.  Bonus and allowances as applicable

About the role:

This role is responsible for developing and coordinating fun and meaningful events, activities and services that encourage an active and happy lifestyle among the residents in the community while ensuring the achievement of essential activities of daily living. You will meet with residents to assess their recreational needs & interests. Then, you will be responsible for developing creative, innovative and meaningful recreation programs based on the dimensions of wellness and our residents’ needs. You will commit to recruit, orient, train, assign and recognize volunteers and students as integral parts of the program. It is also imperative that you work closely with all team members and volunteers to develop and coach a cohesive approach to running successful recreational programs. You will be responsible for planning activities for residents that are beneficial and complimentary to the social welfare and interests of the residents of our retirement community. 

 

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement programs of interest and meaning to our residents to enhance their lives and exceed their active aging lifestyle expectations.

• Develop and prepare activity calendars designed to provide information regarding current and future activities and special events

• Research, evaluate, approve, develop and modify community events and programs, according to resident interests.

• Organize and lead activities for residents.

• Engage and motivate residents resulting in program participation.

• Engage in community public relations including collaboration with corporate public relations and preparation of local positive publicity stories.

• Recruit, research, and approve schedules and supervise programs leaders, general contractor entertainers, volunteers, religious professionals and vendors.

• Serve as the community’s “manager-on-duty” on a regular basis.

• Interview residents, on occasion, to determine his/her interests and program preferences and if, appropriate what accommodations may be needed for program attendance (such as large print game card etc.).

• Maintain the operating budget for the department

• All other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:-

 

• Bachelor’s degree from college or university; one to two years related experience and/or training. Fresher can also apply.

• Post-secondary education program relating to recreation, gerontology, social work, or proven related experience a requirement

• Degree or Diploma in Recreation Therapy, considered an asset

• Previous experience working in a health care setting a plus.

• Experience in memory care programming an asset

• Experience in volunteer management

• Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness

• Must be able to respond to emergency situations

• Must be able to operate related equipment

• Ability to work effectively with small groups as leader or facilitator.

• Demonstration of a caring and compassionate attitude while working with team members, residents, volunteers and external community participants.

• Ability to demonstrate leadership while motivating team members and volunteers to become genuinely involved in activities.

• Ability to make decisions that respect the residents' choices and follow policies and procedures and creatively problem solve

• Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to co-ordinate and plan

• Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills

• Ensures a positive attitude and team orientation is exhibited in verbal and non-verbal communication. Ability to effectively utilize technology including use of computers, iPad/Tablet use, Word programming, internet access, email, and social media
